Medbury Preparatory School v Hereworth School
Medbury 107 (Joe Williams 24/ Damien Scott 2-19, Peter Marffy 2-16) lost to Hereworth 108/3 (Peter Marffy 47, Angus Smith 23)
Medbury won the toss and batted in very good conditions. Although their effort was steady, Hereworth, through tidy bowling and keen fielding always held the reins. Medbury were dismissed for 107 with Joe Williams scoring 24. For Hereworth Damien Scott and Peter Marffy both took two wickets apiece. In reply Hereworth got off to a brisk start through openers Angus Smith and Peter Marffy, but Medbury held firm and made them work for their runs through the middle stages of the innings. Peter Marffy was cut short of 50 with a stunning 47 which was the basis of Hereworth's victory. Reaching 108/3 with overs to spare.
Southwell School v Waimea Intermediate
Southwell 133/2 (Mitchell East 56no, Tim Seifert 25no) beat Waimea 129 (Hamish Drummond 32, Jacob Whittaker 24/ Te Raina Richards-Coxhead 2-13, Bryn Gatland 2-24, Scott Finlayson 2-29, Liam Bullen 2-24)
Southwell won the toss and asked Waimea to bat first. After the loss of an early wicket Waimea consolidated their innings around a 47 run second wicket stand between Hamish Drummond and Jacob Whittaker. However, they were unable to push on and accurate bowling by Southwell saw them restricted to 129. Four bowlers each took two wickets for Southwell – Te Raina Richards-Coxhead, Bryn Gatland, Scott Finlayson and Liam Bullen. Similar to the Waimea innings Southwell lost an early wicket but a second wicket partnership of 78 between Mitchell East, who finished on 56 not out, and Joel Kossof set them up for a comfortable win. At the end they were 133/2 with Tim Seifert also not out on 25.

Heaton Normal Intermediate v Raroa Normal Intermediate
Heaton 142/9 (Anna Radovonich 46, Jamie Alexander 4-18) lost toRaroa 143/5 (Jamie Alexander 41, Hannah Lee-Harwood 36)
Raroa won the toss and put Heaton into bat. While they lost an early wicket they enjoyed the conditions and built a useful tally around opener Anna Radovonich’s fine 46. After their 25 overs they had accumulated 142/9. The best of the Raroa bowlers was Jamie Alexander who took 4/18. In reply Raroa got away to a flying start and through the efforts of Jamie Alexander with an accomplished 41, to back up her wickets, and Hannah Lee-Harwood 36, they quickly got through to a 100. They loss of several wickets did not deter them and they reached their target in the 23rd over five wickets down.
Tai Tapu School v Viscount School
Viscount 167/2 (Sitoga Pulemau 65no, Teina Atiau 28no) beat Tai Tapu 53 (Teina Atiau 3-5, Ana Taumalolo 2-17)
Tai Tapu won the toss and asked Viscount to bat which they did with relish. Sound defence, mixed with aggressive running between wickets, and the dispatching of any loose balls saw them amass a formidable 167/2. Opener Sitoga Pulemau batted through the innings – a first for a MILO tournament – to be not out 65. She was well supported by Teina Atiau who scored 28 not out. In reply Tai Tapu was always up against it and struggled through to 53 before being dismissed. Teina Atiau had a good double also taking three cheap wickets and Ana Taumalolo picked up two. Beating Tai Tapu by 114 runs.
