The WHITE FERNS have fallen in their final warm-up match, losing to the Windies Women by seven wickets at the Guyana National Stadium, Georgetown.
WHITE FERNS captain Amy Satterthwaite was upbeat post-match, saying the team can learn a lot from the performance.
“It was good to play in Guyana in the conditions that the four games are going to be in. I’m pleased with how we’re tracking. It’s hard to read into warm-up games too much, I’ve seen teams get thrashed in warm-up games and go away and win tournaments.”

Anisa Mohammed was the star of the show for the home side, taking 4-22 as the Windies restricted the New Zealand batting to 122-9 from their 20 overs.
Maddy Green was once again in form with the blade for the WHITE FERNS, top scoring with 35*, while captain Satterthwaite spent some valuable time in the middle scoring 28 at number four.

The Windies started quickly and never looked back. Openers Hayley Matthews and Deandra Dottin put on a quick-fire fifty run partnership.
When Matthews was dismissed for 50 in the 14th over, the damage had been done, the Windies claiming victory in the 19th over.
