Hearts too good for Sparks

The Auckland Hearts have crushed the Central Hinds by eight wickets in yet another great batting display.

Central decided to take their chances against the Heart’s bowling attack after winning the toss and they batted well. 30 was put on for the first wicket before Rachel Priest was dismissed on 18.

Kerry-Anne Tomlinson though proved tougher to dismiss for Auckland, until she fell just short of what would have been a deserved half-century for 47.

She found great help from Sara McGlashan who made an unbeaten 34 to help the Hinds get to 136 for seven from 20 overs.

Paula Gruber was the pick of the bowlers for the Hearts and collected figures of two for 18 from four overs.
Auckland have been in fantastic from with the bat of late, with the top order in particular devastating bowling line-ups.

Today would be no different with star import Stefanie Taylor stealing the show with a powerful display of batting.
Taylor smashed an unbeaten 60 from 51 deliveries to put the Hearts in a dominant position.

To help her reach Central’s score Taylor found help from Captain Katie Perkins who played dynamically in her 39 not out which included two fours and a six.

In the end Taylor and Perkins killed off the game at the start of the 19th over to beat the Hind’s by eight wickets.
It was another impressive batting display from Auckland which left Central’s bowlers with nowhere to hide.
